Who we are
Karting Tracks is an independent directory of kart circuits in the UK and Ireland, run by Ben Gray, part of the CYE Group. For anything in this policy, or to ask what we hold about you, email [email protected].
Analytics
We use Google Analytics to see which pages people find useful and which they leave immediately. It tells us things like how many people looked at a track page and which search terms brought them, in aggregate.
It sets a cookie, so we ask first. Decline and no analytics cookie is stored. Google still receives an anonymous signal that a page was viewed, which cannot be tied back to you and is what lets us keep a rough page count without tracking anybody.
You can change your mind at any time by clearing this site's data in your browser, which makes the banner appear again. Google's own explanation of how it handles data is at policies.google.com.
Cookies
Two, at most, and only one of them ever leaves your browser.
- Your cookie choice. Stored locally so we do not ask on every page. It never leaves your device and contains nothing but the word granted or denied.
- Google Analytics. Set only if you accept. Used to count visits and distinguish one session from another.
There is no advertising network on this site, no retargeting, no social media pixels and no third-party trackers embedded in pages.
If you email us
When you email us, whether to correct a listing, claim a track or ask something, we keep that email so we can reply and so we remember what was agreed. We do not add you to a mailing list, because we do not have one.
If you claim a listing as an operator, we keep your name, role and contact details so we know who to check changes with. Ask us to delete that and we will.
Affiliate links
Some links to retailers and experience companies are affiliate links, meaning we earn a commission if you buy through one. Those pages say so at the top rather than in the footnotes.
Clicking one takes you to the retailer, who will apply their own cookies and privacy policy. We are told that a sale happened and roughly what it was worth. We are not told who you are.
What we do not do
- We do not sell or share your data with anyone.
- We do not have user accounts, so there is no password of yours to lose.
- We do not take bookings, so we never see your payment details.
- We do not run advertising, so nobody is bidding on your attention here.
Where the site is hosted
On Cloudflare Pages. Cloudflare processes standard web server logs, including IP addresses, to serve pages and block attacks. That is a legitimate interest under UK GDPR and happens whether or not you accept cookies.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you can ask what we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, and object to how we use it. Given the above, that mostly means emails you have sent us. Write to [email protected] and we will deal with it within a month, usually the same week.
If you are not happy with how we have handled something, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
Changes
If this policy changes in a way that matters, the date at the top changes with it. We are not going to quietly start doing something different and hope you do not notice.
