About the track

Glan Y Gors Park sits in open country at Cerrigydrudion, on the edge of Snowdonia, and runs an 1,100 metre outdoor circuit. The briefing room has a balcony with panoramic views over the whole track, which makes it a better spectator venue than most.

The hire fleet is Honda 400cc twin engine karts, which the operator calls the fastest corporate fleet in the country. Corporate events include live lap times, trophies and equipment.

It is a serious owner-driver venue too. Dragon Kart Club, founded here in 2002 and recognised by Motorsport UK, runs regular test days at £65 a driver with no licence required, though you need your own kart and equipment. The circuit also hosts visiting championship meetings including BKC, CKC, JKC, Super One, BPEC and UKC.

Race weekends are properly catered for. Camping is £20 for the weekend with toilets and showers open around the clock, tarmac paddock bays are £40 and gravel bays £20. There is no electric hook-up, so generators are permitted between 7.30am and 11pm. You can arrive the night before a test day but must be in before 9pm, and parking on the main road is not allowed.

Racing your own kart

No licence required for test days, which run from beginner to advanced, but you must have your own kart and equipment. Championship paddock bookings for BKC, CKC, JKC and Super One are arranged through the respective championship rather than the circuit.
