About the track
K1 Speed Canary Wharf is the UK site of an international chain with more than a hundred locations, and it is one hundred per cent electric. The karts are indoor and battery powered, which puts it in a small group alongside Revolution Karting on the other side of the city.
The site traded as Capital Karts until K1 Speed, an American operator with over a hundred circuits, acquired the business in May 2024 as its route into the UK and Europe. The Canary Wharf venue now runs under K1 branding.
Pricing is straightforward and rewards buying more up front. A single 15-minute race is £29, two are £45 and three are £65, so the rate falls from £1.93 a minute to £1.44. The Speedpass at £69 is their most popular option: two races plus a t-shirt and a K1 licence.
Ages split at 13. Junior karting runs from 7 to 13 and adult karting from 14. Family races deliberately mix junior and adult karts so a whole family can race together from age 7, though those have to be booked by phone or in store rather than online.
One thing to plan around: races cannot run back to back. They can be booked 30 minutes apart, so a three-race package is a longer visit than the 45 minutes of track time suggests.
Budget an extra £6 a head for the Racer's Pack, a balaclava and gloves, which is compulsory unless you bring your own. Exclusive use of the circuit needs 16 racers for a children's party or 20 for a teen, adult or corporate event.

Questions people ask
How young can children race at K1 Speed Canary Wharf?
Seven. Junior karting runs from 7 to 13, and family races mix junior and adult karts from the same age. A height requirement applies as well, and drivers are measured on arrival.
Is this the same place as Capital Karts?
Yes. K1 Speed acquired Capital Karts in May 2024 as its entry into the UK and European market, and the Canary Wharf venue now trades under the K1 Speed name.
What does it cost?
A single 15-minute race is £29, two are £45 and three are £65. The Speedpass at £69 is two races plus a t-shirt and a licence. Family races are £45 per person for two races. Add £6 for the compulsory Racer's Pack unless you bring your own balaclava and gloves.
Which package is best value?
Three races at £65, which works out at £1.44 a minute against £1.93 for a single race. The Speedpass costs more per minute but includes a t-shirt and a K1 licence.
Can I race with my child?
Yes. Family races mix junior and adult karts in the same session for ages 7 and up. They cannot be booked online, so call 020 7100 4412 or book in store.
Can I book races back to back?
No, though you can book them 30 minutes apart. So allow more time than the track minutes suggest, particularly for a three-race package.
Are the karts electric?
Yes, entirely. K1 Speed run one hundred per cent electric karts, which is still unusual in the UK.
Am I guaranteed to race if I meet the height minimum?
No. The operator is explicit that meeting the height requirement is not a guarantee. Drivers are measured on site and must be able to operate every element of the kart safely, with final approval at management's discretion.
How many people do I need for an exclusive event?
Sixteen racers for a children's party, or twenty for a teen, adult or corporate event, to take the circuit exclusively.
Can I get a refund?
No. All online purchases are non-refundable and non-transferable.
Do they run leagues?
Yes. The Adult Challenge GP is £79 on the first Sunday of the month, and the Junior and Teen Challenge GPs are £55 each on the first Friday, all racing from 18:30. They feed into K1's World Championship.
Is there anything else on site?
Racing simulators, which can be combined with karting on their Wednesday Race and Sim deal, and the Paddock Lounge for food and drink.
Do I need to sign anything?
Yes, every racer needs a signed waiver on file. These are signed in store on arrival, and anyone under 18 needs a parent or legal guardian to sign for them.
