About Knockhill Karting

Knockhill's karting track sits within the Knockhill motor racing circuit near Dunfermline in Fife. It is a 500m outdoor floodlit circuit with four corners and changes in elevation, open seven days a week throughout the year.

Children from 8 drive Sodi cadet karts, while pro karts powered by LPG Honda engines take drivers from 12 and at least 157cm tall. A tandem kart lets children from 4 ride beside an adult driver, and family sessions allow parents and children on track at the same time.

Groups can book sprint races, Grand Prix and endurance events, mostly for over-16s. There is also a monthly Kids Karting Club with a season-long championship for 8–15-year-olds.

Top speed of 50mph is the operator's published figure, not an independent measurement.

The karts

  • Sodi SR5 Pro
  • Sodi LR5 Cadet
  • Sodi 2-Drive
One thing we're checking: Pro karts are LPG-fuelled with Honda GX270 engines (up to 50mph); cadet karts reach up to 25mph. The operator's pages name the pro kart both SR5 and GT5. Fuel type of the cadet and tandem karts is not stated.
